Stuart Howe, Potter

Stuart was hooked when he started pottery as a camp counsellor. He went on to study ceramics (and politics) at UNC-Ashville, then travelled to New Zealand where he honed his skills. Upon his return the US, he worked with Hinkley Pottery (Washington, D.C.) and then Mud Dabbers in Brevard, NC. In 2017, Stuart opened his own studio, Brevard Clay, a combination of professional art production and gallery combined with an interactive and instructive arts experience, all under one roof, which he ran with his wife Maggie. Stuart has relocated to Charlottesville, VA, where he works in space at Morehouse Studio and is also an Associate Member of the McGuffey Art Center.
