About Shannon Bielski & Moonlight Drive

Blending traditional bluegrass with progressive influences, Shannon Bielski & Moonlight Drive deliver energetic instrumentals, polished harmonies, and a fresh, distinctive sound while remaining firmly rooted in the traditions of bluegrass.

Formed in 2018, the band features award-winning vocalist, fiddler, and songwriter Shannon Bielski and acclaimed banjo player and recording artist Rob Benzing.

Known for their energetic and polished live performances, the band has opened for The Seldom Scene, The Travelin’ McCourys, Lonesome River Band, Danny Paisley and Southern Grass, and Ronnie Bowman. Bluegrass Unlimited has called the group “something special.”

About Shannon Bielski

Shannon began playing violin at age eight and bluegrass fiddle at thirteen before performing with Southern Maryland’s Zekiah Swamp Cats. She later studied in East Tennessee State University’s Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Roots Music program.

In 2018, Shannon won the Deer Creek Fiddlers’ Convention Songwriting Contest, while Moonlight Drive took first place in the DCBU Mid-Atlantic Bluegrass Band Competition.

About Rob Benzing

Based in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, Rob Benzing developed his banjo style from traditional influences including Flatt & Scruggs and the Stanley Brothers, later incorporating contemporary influences such as J.D. Crowe, Béla Fleck, and Scott Vestal.

His playing has been featured in Banjo Newsletter and Bluegrass Unlimited. His 2017 self-titled album on Patuxent Music featured Danny Knicely, Mark Schatz, and Patrick McAvinue.

Together, Shannon Bielski & Moonlight Drive bring a fresh and distinctive voice to modern bluegrass while honoring the music’s rich traditions.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own picnic dinner and non-alcoholic beverages (BYOB) and settle in for a relaxed evening of music.

Looking for something a little stronger? Our friends from Ducard Vineyards will be on site offering wine for purchase by the glass and bottle.
